7 MARCH 2027
This is a non-competitive beginners’ trail event, organised by the Ayuntamiento de Arnuero as part of the Trail Ecoparque de Trasmiera event and under the supervision of the Federación Cántabra de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada, hereinafter FCDME.
This event aims to offer a suitable setting for those who want to enjoy the natural environment and take up trail running without the pressure of time and competition. Participants will be able to walk or run at their own pace enjoying the landscape and natural settings through which the event passes, savouring every moment and even taking photos at the emblematic spots on the route. To this end the distance has been reduced and a longer time allowance is offered than in the main event.
This event, held simultaneously with the main race, shares its route, with the difference that some shortcuts are made on the main route, so that the distance is reduced to approximately 21 km. Likewise, the time allowed to complete it is 5:30 hours, so the intention is to offer participants an event for beginners, to enjoy nature and to finish it without feeling pressured by time.

To this end the distance has been reduced and a longer time allowance is offered than in the main competitive event.
Jointly organised by the Club “Somos Ecoparque” and the Ayuntamiento de Arnuero, we present this popular introductory Trail Mountain event, which is non-competitive, so there will be no podium or prizes, and timing is done for the sole purpose of keeping track of participants. It has a route of approximately 21 km. with the start at the Isla Playa sports court and the finish at Campo San Sebastián in the same town.
Participants who run without a bib or with a bib not registered in their name will not be covered by the benefits and insurance applied to this race. They are therefore considered to be outside the race and the organisers decline all responsibility in the event of an accident.
The event will take place on 7 March 2027, with the start at 9:00 from the Barrio Quejo sports court (Isla-Playa), Municipality of Arnuero, where the start check will take place.
The event will take place over a route of approximately 21 km, with an elevation gain of approximately 900 m. and a cumulative elevation of 1.800 m.
The race is non-competitive, so no categories are established. Participants’ times will be recorded by chip bib, but there will be no podium, although a list of times for all athletes who start will be published.
The general registration period ends on 20 February 2026 or once the maximum number of bibs set by the Organisation (250) has been reached.
Registrations may be made after this period until 27 February, but they will carry a financial penalty on the normal registration fee, and those registering late will not be able to choose sizes for the gift garments.
Under no circumstances will registration be possible on race day.
Registration can be made in the following ways:
Bib collection will be in person, and presenting your ID (DNI) is ESSENTIAL. Bibs can be collected on the day of the race, at the premises set up for this purpose, from 7:30 until 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. In addition, an additional collection point may be set up on the preceding days, of which registered participants will be duly informed.
General registration for the race entitles you to take part in the race with a chip bib for timing, aid stations, sports insurance, assistance during the race, a race pack with a gift sports garment or similar, and entitlement to the trophies and prizes provided for in these Rules.
It also entitles you to be part of the race podium, receive the prizes established and take part with your bib number in the draws for prizes and gifts donated by the organisation’s collaborators.
ENTRY FEE.
GENERAL REGISTRATION: From opening until 20 February
Price 22,00 euros.
LATE REGISTRATION: From 21 February to 27 February
Price 26,00 euros.
Note: For late registrations, availability of the chosen size for the gift sports garment is not guaranteed.
In both cases, non-federated runners must obtain the FCDME Day Licence by paying the stipulated fee.
REFUND POLICY.
The organisation undertakes to refund completed registrations, with a penalty of 4€ for administration costs, provided that there is a justified reason (injury or other unforeseen family or work impediments) and provided that it is requested before 20 February. After that date no refunds will be accepted nor any amount paid for that reason.
Bib transfers to another runner will also be made at any time within the registration period, that is, until 27 February, the day on which registration will be completely closed and the individual accident insurance will be taken out in favour of the bib holders. For this reason there will no longer be any possibility of changes.
With regard to any sports garments purchased together with the registration, their cost will not be refunded under any circumstances, and the garment in question will be made available to the buyer.
The route will be duly marked with specific markers for this type of event that are easily recognisable and with identifying marks along the entire course. The Organisation will set up several intermediate checkpoints, manual or mechanical, through which runners must have passed under penalty of exclusion from the list of participants who finish the event.
At least one checkpoint with time recording will be set up. It will be located in the Historic Quarter of Isla, approximately halfway along the race route (near the 3rd aid station located at approx. km. 12). This checkpoint will close at 12:30, so that:
Participants must pass this point no later than 3:30 hours after the start.
Participants who reach this point after it has closed will be out of the race and must hand over their bib to the members of the organisation acting as race sweepers or to one of the aid station or crossing volunteers, the decision to continue the route being at their own risk, without being covered by the insurance the Organisation offers all participants.
A maximum race time of 5:30 hours is established, so that the Finish control and the race as a sporting event will close at 14:30, and all participants arriving later will be out of the race.
The Organisation will have a group of volunteers acting as race sweepers. This group will cover the route setting off last behind the pack, a position they will keep at all times, trying to adjust their pace to arrive just before the cut-off times, both the intermediate point time and the maximum race time. Participants who, despite the warnings of the sweeper group, are overtaken by it, will be out of the race and must hand over their bib to them, anything that may happen if they continue the route being at their own risk.
This is a semi-self-sufficiency event, so there will be four aid stations along the route: three of them liquid (approx. km. 4, 8 and 16) and one solid-liquid (approx. km. 12). There will also be an additional water supply point in the Cabo Quejo area
In addition, there will be an aid station at the finish, with solids and liquids.
During the rest of the route participants must be self-sufficient, and may carry with them whatever nutrition and hydration products they consider appropriate.
In addition to those who breach the race regulations, the Organisation will disqualify anyone who:
- Does not complete the entire route
- Does not pass through the start and route checkpoints
- Tampering with the bib or not wearing it clearly visible on the front.
- Littering or damaging the surroundings of the route (NOT disposing of waste in the places provided by the organisation for this purpose).
- Not helping any participant and informing the nearest checkpoint.
- Not following the instructions and guidelines of the members of the organisation and checkpoint staff.
The organisers may, if necessary, withdraw any person who is not in normal physical or mental condition.
If you withdraw from the race, you must inform any member of the organisation and hand over your bib.
The terrain on which this sporting event takes place is of enormous ecological importance, so we must respect it; it is vitally important to dispose of rubbish and waste in the places provided for this purpose, which will be located near the aid stations.
Bad weather is no obstacle to holding this race, unless there are extreme weather conditions in which participation would pose a clear risk to the safety of the participants.
The organisers reserve the right to make any appropriate changes and/or propose an alternative route to the one initially marked, if they deem it advisable for various reasons of clear importance, as well as to cancel the race if weather conditions require it or due to force majeure.
It is advisable to carry a hydration kit (water bottle or flask), as well as a cap, a waterproof jacket and trail shoes.
The organisers are not responsible for any accidents that may occur during the race, nor for the belongings of each participant.
The organisers will have communication and emergency services from civil protection and appropriate medical transport, as well as a group insurance policy, but decline all responsibility for any damage that may be caused to or by participants, who agree to take part in the race freely and under their own full responsibility.
In case of doubt, the decision of the organisers will prevail.
By registering, every participant accepts the conditions of these rules and releases the organisers from all liability in the event of accident or injury, as well as from any eventuality that may arise from participation in the race.
If the organisers are forced to do so, these rules may be amended. However, any amendment will be duly communicated to participants.
Completing the registration constitutes acknowledgement of agreement with these rules and with the liability waiver attached as an annex to them.
The image rights arising from participation in any of the races or formats organised under the name Trail Ecoparque de Trasmiera GP de Isla will belong exclusively to the race Organisation, which means that it may use them as it sees fit, provided it does not infringe the participant’s right to privacy. To this end, participants, by the mere fact of signing the registration form, assign their image, photographic and audiovisual rights, which may be used by the Organisation for the race’s own publicity.
Furthermore, any use of them by any company or private individual must be permitted and/or acknowledged by the Organisation itself. Likewise, registered runners will authorise their name to appear in a list of participants, results lists, tracking system and any other medium the organisers determine for the proper running of the event published on the official race website.
Runners registered for the Slow Trail de Ecoparque de Trasmiera acknowledge that their participation in the event is voluntary and at their own risk. Therefore, the organisers, collaborators, sponsors and other participants are exempt from any civil liability.
All participants, by the mere fact of signing the registration form, declare that they accept and sign the Liability Waiver.
