ISLA LOBSTER

With the aim of adding new incentives to the Ecoparque Trail race, the Organisation, in collaboration with our sponsor the Centro de Iniciativas Turísticas de Isla, is promoting a unique prize which, under the name “Isla Lobster”, will recognise the fastest athletes (man and woman) over a section of the race that runs along the coast of Isla where this crustacean is traditionally fished

It is our tribute to one of the most renowned products of the local gastronomy, which has been part of the history of this town for centuries, and which today continues to be an important part of the traditional and gastronomic culture of Isla.

RULES

1. All participants in the long GP Isla 27 km race will take part in this prize, without the need for prior registration.
2. The prize winners will be the male athlete and the female athlete who complete the marked section in the fastest time.
3. The timed section will start next to the so-called “Mirador de las Aves Marinas” on the cliffs of Isla and will finish near the so-called “La Antena”. In order to time this section, the Organisation will set up two magnetic timing mats that will record runners passing through these points, establishing the total time taken to complete the section. Participants who do not pass through both checkpoints will be excluded from the Special prize.
4. Only 2 prizes are awarded, for the male winner and the female winner, that is, the athletes of each sex who have set the best time over that section, regardless of their position in the overall ranking. The only requirement to be eligible for the prize is to have completed the race within the time limit and consequently to appear in the overall ranking of the Ecoparque Trail Gran Premio de Isla (27Km.) race. The prize will be an Isla lobster and it will be presented during the awards ceremony (from 14:30h.), which the prize winners are required to attend in person.
5. Should the male or female winner not attend the prize-giving, the prize will be awarded to the next best athlete on the timed section.
6. The timed section, approximately 2,5 km. long, starts on crossing the checkpoint located near the “Mirador de las Aves”, marked in the following route photo as “Point 1”, and finishes at the checkpoint near “La Antena”, marked as “Point 2”
